Most Expensive Vehicles Built In The United States

America is now producing some of the most expensive cars in the world. And that’s a good thing for the people that work in those manufacturing plants and our country as a whole. Here are the 15 most expensive cars made in the US of A.

15. Rivian R1S Tri

Built in Normal, Illinois
Base Price: $107,700

Rivian has planted its production flag in Normal, Illinois, (a facility formerly used by Mitsubishi) and builds all its vehicles there. The company updated and upgraded the R1S for 2025 with new suspension tuning as well as a new electrical architecture with updated battery packs. The three-motor Tri model fits between the base Dual-Motor configuration and the top Quad-Motor. (The Quad will be more expensive, but pricing isn’t out yet.) As electric SUVs go, none can match the off-road capability, on-road speed, and 7-passenger seating of the Rivian. Oh, and this SUV can tow 7700 lbs and offers a payload capacity of almost a ton. Plus, when you go for the Max pack, the R1S can cover over 400 miles on a charge. The new California Dune editions are particularly cool. Downsides? Like some GM vehicles, Rivian doesn’t offer Apple CarPlay or Android Auto integration. And for many buyers, that’s a source of frustration

14. Jeep Grand Wagoneer L Series III

Built in Warren, Michigan
Base Price: $113,040

Back in the 1980s, there were just a handful of luxury SUVs on the market. And only one was made in America: the Jeep Grand Wagoneer. Today, the list of fancy trucks is a long one. But the Jeep Grand Wagoneer still occupies a spot. The boxy Jeep is as spacious as you’d expect given its huge footprint. And it’s absolutely stuffed with luxurious materials and upscale equipment. Instead of a big V-8, Jeep uses a potent inline-six. The 540-hp Hurricane twin-turbo engine will move this three-ton SUV to 60 mph in under 5.0 seconds. And because it’s a Jeep, the optional off-road goodies allow this plush machine to traverse trails that rivals from Cadillac and Lincoln simply cannot.

13. Ford F-150 Raptor R

Built in Dearborn, Michigan
Base Price: $113,620

There are quite a few full-size pickup trucks that approach or exceed the $100,000 mark. But when the F-150 Raptor, already a pricey pickup, is spec’d with the R package, it nudges ahead on the list. Why? Well, checking the box that replaces the standard twin-turbocharged V-6 with the supercharged 5.2-liter V-8 adds over $30,000 to the sticker. For that price, Ford bolts a ferocious 720-hp motor under the hood, upgrades the suspension, and fills the fenders with humongous 37-inch tires. It’s the most powerful gas-powered pickup on the market. And the R is an absolute blast to drive. After all, an off-road truck that can hit 60 mph in under 4.0 seconds is going to plaster a wide smile on the driver’s face.

12. Lincoln Navigator L Black Label

Built in Louisville, Kentucky
Base Price: $122,310

Lincoln’s fifth-generation Navigator is new for 2025. However, it’s still built in Ford’s truck plant in Kentucky, as it has been for years. There are several styling mods this year, and care was spent inside carving out more living space. The luxurious full-size SUV now uses a massive 48-inch panoramic screen to control virtually all functions up front. And the fanciest models have massaging second-row seats as well as heated seats in the third row for when you want to pamper the kids. One powertrain serves all Navigators—a 440-horsepower twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 paired to a 10-speed automatic. The Navigator’s main mission is to shuttle everyone on board comfortably. And it does that well thanks to its cushy suspension and tomb-like interior.

11. Mercedes-AMG GLE63

Built in Vance, Alabama
Base Price: $131,950

The Mercedes-AMG GLE is built at the same Alabama plant as its larger brother, the GLS. And like that big boy, the tidier GLE is available with the company’s top AMG kit—the 603-hp twin-turbo V-8. That means this five-passenger mid-size SUV has no trouble crushing the quarter-mile in 13 seconds flat. Unlike the almost half-ton-heavier GLS, the GLE has serious moves when it comes to backroad handling. That agility comes courtesy of the air suspension working in conjunction with active anti-roll bars. Best of all, the GLE is still an incredibly luxurious and comfortable vehicle to pilot every day.

10. Cadillac Escalade IQ

Built in Detroit, Michigan
Base Price: $132,695

The Detroit-built, fully electric Escalade IQ should deliver everything a luxury SUV buyer could ever want in an EV. The IQ shares little with the gas Escalade and instead rides on the same platform as the GMC Hummer SUV and Chevy Silverado EV. As such, there’s a massive battery underfloor with enough capacity to deliver a claimed range of 460 miles on a charge. The dual-motor setup packs 750 hp and all-wheel drive, which should be good for a 60-mph time of under 5.0 seconds. Why isn’t something with over 700 hp a little quicker? Well, it’s because it has 9000 pounds to move. Yes, this thing is a bit of a porker. Like all Escalades, the IQ is loaded with upscale gear, including a massive 55-inch screen that spans the width of the interior. And because this is an EV, there’s a 12 cubic-foot frunk where the engine would normally be. However, one thing that’s missing from this Cadillac is Apple CarPlay, as GM has decided to eliminate the feature from its EVs.

9. BMW X6 M

Built in Spartanburg, South Carolina
Base Price: $133,275

BMW churns out several M-badged SUVs from its plant in South Carolina. The X6 M is one of the most potent and one of the priciest. Its twin-turbo 4.4-liter V-8 produces 617 horsepower, and BMW says the X6 M will top 177 mph when equipped with the M Driver’s Package and scoot to 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds. The sloped roofline (love it or hate it) is what makes the X6 special. Want to save a few bucks? The X5 M is the same basic vehicle with more cargo room at a slightly lower price point. But in either case, be prepared for a firm ride—especially when the pavement gets a little rough.

8. Mercedes-AMG GLS63

Built in Vance, Alabama
Base Price: $150,650

One might imagine that the 603-hp AMG GLS63 would be produced in Stuttgart, Germany, at the Mercedes plant less than an hour from the Autobahn. But instead, this AMG is built in Alabama alongside several other Mercedes SUVs. Regardless of which country screws together the GLS63, this is one quick machine. In our testing, the twin-turbo 4.4-liter V-8 gets to 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds. But what’s cool here is that the GLS63 has three rows of seating, so you can give the carpool kids a ride to school that they may never forget. Inside, it’s a typical high-end Mercedes-Benz with knobs, buttons and trim that looks and feels like it belongs in a six-figure SUV.

7. BMW Alpina XB7

Built in Spartanburg, South Carolina
Base Price: $157,175

The BMW Alpina XB7 is the proper foil to the Mercedes-AMG GLS63. And this high-performance luxury SUV is built at BMW’s Spartanburg, South Carolina, plant—about 400 miles away from where the Benz is assembled. Based on the X7, the XB7 is a 631-hp animal that has been given the full Alpina performance treatment. BMW says it can reach 60 mph in 3.9 seconds and pull all the way to 180 mph. The XB7 has an air suspension, and clicking over to Sport Plus mode will lower the Alpina by 1.6 inches. And to slow the show, there are enormous Brembo brakes up front and even larger units at the rear. At the XB7’s price, it’s certainly a rare machine on the street. But when you’re spending this kind of scratch, isn’t that the point?

6. Cadillac Escalade-V ESV

Built In: Arlington, Texas
Base Price: $167,695

Few things are as American as a giant luxury SUV with a raging 682-hp supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 engine under the hood. As one would imagine, the right place to build such a big, ornery thing would be Texas. Yes, Cadillac finally gave the Escalade the high-performance V-series equipment it always deserved. That makeover transformed this rig into a beast that can blast through the quarter-mile in just 12.7 seconds while making the kind of V-8 music we live for. Of course, this tank will suck fuel from its own tank like—well—a tank. But then, if you are buying a vehicle for fuel economy, the Escalade-V probably shouldn’t be on your shopping list in the first place. Our only gripe? It doesn’t look quite different enough from a plain-vanilla Escalade.

5. Mercedes-Maybach GLS600

Built in Vance, Alabama
Base Price: $179,600

The exclusive, ultra-luxury Mercedes-Maybach GLS600 is built in the same plant as every other GLS. The difference is that, after the basic bones of this vehicle are assembled, a special Maybach team takes the reins to finish the job, adding all the high-end luxury touches. And the GLS600 has plenty of those. This is one posh machine with an opulent interior that looks like it belongs in a private jet. Rear passengers are treated to a pair of massaging recliners with acres of legroom thanks to the third-row-seat delete. Behind that fancy grill is a 550-hp twin-turbo V-8 and a nine-speed automatic augmented by a 48-volt hybrid system. If you need more speed, the slightly cheaper Mercedes-AMG GLS63 has more power.

4. Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Convertible

Built in Bowling Green, Kentucky
Base Price: $184,995

The Chevrolet Corvette has been exclusively produced at GM’s Bowling Green, Kentucky, plant for decades now. But no Vette before has offered performance or a price tag quite as jaw-dropping as the new ZR1’s. It delivers 1064 hp from a twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter V-8. That’s good for a quarter-mile time of 9.5 seconds at 149 mph and a claimed top speed of 225 mph. The new Vette ZR1 promises to be a track star, too, thanks to giant 15.7-inch front disc brakes as well as bodywork optimized for downforce and aerodynamics. All this capability and fun can be had with either a fixed roof or a convertible body style. Make ours Sebring Orange, please.

3. BMW XM Label

Built in Spartanburg, South Carolina
Base Price: $186,450

BMW’s aggressively styled plug-in hybrid SUV, the XM, is already one powerful machine with over 600 hp. But the more exclusive and potent Label model puts up 738 hp and an equal measure of torque thanks to its big V-8 engine and electric motor. The Label comes standard with adaptive dampers, active anti-roll bars, and an electronically controlled limited-slip rear differential to help this big machine stay the course when the road bends. The flashy design is matched by an equally luxurious interior. And because it’s a plug-in, the BMW can cruise for about 30 miles on electric power. Like every BMW SUV, the XM Label is made at the company’s Spartanburg, South Carolina, plant that churns out about half of all BMWs sold in America.

2. Lucid Air Sapphire

Built in Casa Grande, Arizona
Base Price: $250,500

Lucid’s 500-acre property in Casa Grande, Arizona, manufactures some of the most expensive EVs in the world. The top model, the Air Sapphire sedan, costs a quarter-million dollars. What you get for that stunning sum is one of the quickest cars anywhere. With just over 1200 hp on tap, the Sapphire can rocket through the quarter-mile in 9.3 seconds at 153 mph. Few cars at any price point can keep up. The Sapphire isn’t a one-trick performance pony, either, because it also beat all sorts of special McLarens and Porsches around Virginia International Raceway during our Lightning Lap event. And even with all that speed and handling poise, the Sapphire is a true luxury sedan with a gorgeous Alcantara-lined interior with massaging seats. Oh, and it has over 400 miles of range per charge, too. This could be the ultimate performance EV.

1. Cadillac Celestiq

Built in Warren, Michigan
Base Price (estimated): $340,000

The Cadillac Celestiq is now the most expensive car produced in America by a wide margin. The flagship Cadillac electric sedan is produced by hand, and each one is built to order at a special site inside GM’s Technical Center in Warren, Michigan. The level of customization holds no bounds, with virtually any color or interior-material choice on the table for customers willing to wait a bit to get it all just right. This is a Cadillac that takes aim at Rolls-Royce in terms of luxury, style, and exclusivity. When you slide into that cabin trimmed with your personal material choices, you’ll have a potent powertrain on tap with dual electric motors totaling 655 hp, enough grunt to push this big EV to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds. The estimated electric range comes in at just over 300 miles on a full charge. More importantly, the suspension has the unique ability to smother bumps like no other Cadillac in recent memory. Yet, it can instantly morph into something that will follow a sporty car up a mountain road. The Celestiq is an impressive machine on many levels.
